Our Dance Studio

Our Studio photographer was busy during our performances at the Centralia Cultural society hall this past March 28. Almost as busy as Stan dancing with Sandy & Rue. We had a great time that evening and we also have time for you should you want to stop on by Wednesday evening @ 7:00 to check out our group classes.

We are working on different formations and techniques. This is an advanced level class BUT do you know what level you really are? Come on and visit to check out the action. You just might be what we need.

Just another capture from the latest set of performances for the Studio at Centralia Cultural Center. This is Mary Poll (co-owner) dancing with long time student Carl in a Samba. We challenge our students with routines that are built with their choices of music and the movements within the dance style. It is a partnership that is built on cooperation and the knowledge of the dance. Pushing the envelope a bit each time with a performance in mind, be it in studio or outside as this image shows.

We will add that learning a dance routine in this way pushes aside any of the matters of the day as you need to concentrate on your partnership while dancing. An escape, you could say from the stresses that you walk in with. Plus spending time dancing with the music just takes your brain somewhere else. Usually ending with smile and maybe a bit out of breath as well.

Come join us. Advance group classes on Wednesday evenings starting just after 7:00pm. $10 pp per session.

Friday in the Lou area and the weather has a chance of rain showers so keep the umbrella handy. We decide to pull up a shot of Stan and Mary performing at the 2013 Dancing In The Street festival at the Grand Center.

The studio has been open since 1991 teaching St Louis to Dance. We also do reach out performances as well with other organizations around town. Just give us a call or stop by the studio Monday ~ Thursday. Do call ahead to be sure we are there as we also teach outside of the studio too. The posted image is from a recent performance of our Waltz formation. We actually had to perform it twice as we could not fit all of our couples on the stage at once. It was not an issue for the audience nor our dance family. Applauses happened each time as well as all the smiles. Yes, we had couples down next to the audience as well. They really enjoy the close up experiences with our dancers. Kinda goes both ways.

This group usually meets on Wednesday evenings at the studio for 2 sessions. This is advanced level ballroom. Not sure if you are advanced, come visit tomorrow evening @ 7:00 pm and find out. Hope you can make it.

Last Saturday the studio performed at the Centralia Cultural Society hall. The person that has been behind all of our visits to Centralia IL has been our dance family member Gayle pictured here with Stan Collins. She was the MC and hostess for all of our performers. We had a fun time, per usual, that evening. So Thank You Gayle!
