It's the Tuesday after the Monday known in the US as Cinco de Mayo as well as the previous day of May The 4th be with you AKA Star Wars day. There were other holidays that happened world wide and we will wish all of those revelers well.
So the studio did a thing and our studio photographer is working on some special edits of the images captured during the One Hit Wonders show. This photo of our group formation happened to catch all of the participants faces. A very happy photographer worked a bit of extra magic to bring all into focus against the black curtains.
Now this same group of extended dance family will be doing small and large shows over the next few months and we always welcome new dancers. Yes, these are advanced steps but with everyone helping each other it takes less time than you may think to learn. Come and check what's happening on Wednesdays @ 7:00 PM. New faces always welcome. We all started as beginners, we understand.
Well, we came, we danced, we had a good time! This was last Saturday evening 4/26 at the Centralia Cultural Center for the Light & Lens club. We had 25 routines that included 2 from our formation team and the rest were individual routines from our students & staff.
We were dancing to Billboards "One hit wonders" from over the years. From the Macarena, to Safety Dance or Key Largo. Oh can't forget Baby Shark. 😉. You get the idea.
We will be posting an photo album as well as some videos a bit later. We hope you had a great weekend and lucked out with the weather too.
The U Can Dance Studio Staff & Students will be at Centralia Cultural Center this Saturday evening. We have formations and individual performances for the Light & Lens group. Last time it was Christmas in July. (check the photo 😉) This time it will be to the One Hit Wonders from years past. Do we have fun? Of course! We are doing what we love for an audience that keeps asking us to return. It is the old saying "leave them asking for more". Last time we had an audience participation number. Such a fun group.
Marvelous day today in the area. Here is hoping you have a moment to enjoy it.
Tomorrow is our last Beginner Ballroom group session in this series. With Regina instructing and Stan lending a hand (and feet 🙂 many smiles have surfaced as well as confidence. Yes, we usually change partners during the lesson. It allows us to help each other dance better.
The studio will be at the Centralia Cultural Center this coming Saturday for a performance using "one hit wonder" selections to dance too. Going to be fun time. Here is hoping that the audience will enjoy the performances and the chance to dance with us after as well. Our final practice for our Formation team is happening Wednesday evening after the Beginners class.
We wish those celebrating this Easter weekend good weather, good company and smiles galore. Those are the same wishes for all of our followers and fellow dancers too. 😉 Get on out there and have a good time. Do be safe.
We are sharing some images for our Beginner Ballroom group class as well as a few folks working on their upcoming performances for our friends in Centralia IL. Some of the routines are quite involved and can take months of practice. With all of our performances the object is to entertain as well as having a good time ourselves.
