Diane Brown – Dance Instructor

Our Friend Diane passed on August 6, 2024. We honor her memory.

Diane has been a dancer most of her life. She began tap and ballet classes at the age of eight and as a teenager, occasionally assisted her father who taught Ballroom Dance. In college she was hired to assist the instructor in her tap, ballet and jazz classes and was asked to teach for the Florissant Parks and Recreation Center and she has been teaching ever since.

Diane received her training at U Can Dance Studio, Ray Parks Academy of Dance and Olympiad Gymnastic Center. She is certified with NDEITA (National Dance Exercise Instructors Association). She taught at Ray Parks Studio, Marian Middle School and American Turners. She currently teaches at U Can Dance Studio, St. Louis Community College and two Community Centers.

After 16 years of teaching dance and fitness classes for the Florissant Parks and Recreation Center, Mayor James J. Eagen presented Diane with a “Certificate of Appreciation for her dedicated commitment to the highest standard of excellence for the City of Florissant”

Diane is very proud of all her students – those that chose to compete won top awards in National competitions, some are now professional dancers and instructors.
